In May of 2015, Madame Tussauds unveiled it's latest exhibit, Star Wars.
The exhibit showcases a variety of characters from the franchise in tableau's from the series. To bring the exhibit to life, I was tasked with providing AV to each of the areas.
Audio needed to immerse visitors without bleeding into the next section. Every area has it’s own associated theme running in the background in addition to character quotes and lightsaber effects.
The Millennium Falcon features a projection warped simulation of a Hyperdrive. The footage in a mixture of LucasFilm assets, official sound effects and video game assets. 5 Ultra-Portable, Ultra-Short Throw projectors are used to cover the projection screen which is only 250mm away from the model. Wall mounted speakers provide audio & sub shakers vibrate the falcon and seat in sync with the audio. 5 synchronised players are triggered by the visitor to start the effect.
"My favourite scene so far was when I was on the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca and we literally took it into Hyperdrive" - Dynamo
