Heartlake City is a new interactive area at Legoland Windsor. Opening May 2015, it features new rides, stores and shows. The two areas I created were the Lego News van and the augmented reality city.
The van features a four screen video wall which switches between episodes of Lego Friends across all four screens and lives footage of the park interpolated with news & weather reports.
The Lego model of Heartlake City is surrounded by 6 iPads running a variation of the augmentation software Aurasma. This looks for trigger zones around the model to attach animations and 3D models to on the iPads screen. The benefit of Aurasma's system over almost all of their competitors is, there is no need for a false trigger. The existing scenery is enough to use. This means we could add these and make quick changes without needing to rebuild or damage the Lego City.
