Within Howdens' Northampton headquarters, there are multiple department working together to ensure the national operation runs faultlessly.
One of these departments is the Internal Service team. They monitor all problems at each of the 700+ locations around the UK. To help with this, I've created, for them, an exclusive error map. Unlike the maps displayed in customer facing locations, this does not show every site. This allows at a glance diagnostics on any patterns these issues may be following.
In the staff break areas; Weather, traffic and the latest news are displayed over a customised animated background video. Using the Yahoo! weather API, I was able to bring in additional information such as wind chill and sunset.
